They will increase the Saddle to Handlebar distance by 45 mm (almost 2 inches) for taller folks.
Or turn them UP for a more relaxed upright riding position.

It will fit almost every handlebar with a dia of 25.4 mm, but please note, that there are real cheap old handlebars out there where the center section is bulged to 25.4 only in a very narrow spot. You will need about 72 mm of larger diameter center section for this adapter.  Especially check for enough thickness on some Bromptons. Thanks
